About Us & History
The Lumen Group of Companies was founded by Francois Engelbrecht in 2004 in Bellville, Cape Town.
We started out under the name Electraforce, completing hundreds of large-scale residential electrical installations across the Western Cape. Tough competition from BEE-accredited contractors led us to pivot toward electrical maintenance and installations for private homeowners — a move that built us a strong reputation in Cape Town.
Growth brought new opportunities. We added plumbing services and rebranded as Revma Electrical and Plumbing, then expanded into property maintenance, renovations, and small-scale construction under the name Canman Trades.
To sharpen our focus, we separated our trades into dedicated divisions: Redline Electrical and Marcopolo Plumbing — each with its own specialist team. More recently, we entered the second-hand vehicle market with the launch of Vero Motors.
